Projects Complete

I have been busy making socks and a few cardigans and a poncho. In the previous post I stated how I have been crocheting lots this winter. It is funny how when I get stressed I tune in to one of my many hobbies for relief. This time is crochet. I decided I wanted a new cardigan for work and made this wonderful pattern by Sewrella The Everyday Cardigan is a lovely and fairly easy project.
I also made this super easy Poncho by MakeandDoCrew

I also made a knitted boyfriend cardigan pattern from VogueKnitting Fall 2014 issue. The V Neck Cardigan is a lovely bulky weight pattern and I completed it in a very few days. I even wore it work but I found I didn’t care for the plunging “V” neckline and having the buttonholes on the left hand side drove me crazy. I ripped it back to the pockets and made the fronts go straight up, added a collar and moved the buttons so they do up on the right.I like it much better now.
I also completed some socks. Plain toe ups done two at a time using magic loop. The left pair is Turtle Purls "Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard ,Spock". The right pair is Paton's Kroy Stripes "Landscapes".
Well that is all for today. This Wednesday we are meeting at Deina's. See you there.

Crochet Crazy

So Happy New Year.
We will be meeting this Wednesday, January 31st at Reads in Riverview from 6 to 7pm. Weather permitting.
I have made two crochet shrug type cardigans in the last few weeks and I am knitting two different cardigans as well. The white Habitat cardigan I made was from a free pattern  by Make& Do Crew and it is very beginner friendly. As is the second shrug I made Light Frost Blanket sweater by Mama in a Stitch .
See you all on Wednesday

It's a New Day

Hello Friends
Well what a summer!
Our little knitting group took the summer off and I was so grateful for the break as my neck pain had grown so terrible I found it difficult to even read. My doctor retired and it was a few months before the new doctor was open and after an X-ray she suggested physiotherapy. Yeah! I have been going to Cameron at Tidewater Physiotherapy since the first week of September and my neck pain is almost entirely gone! It's such a relief to be able to do things once again. You can't imagine.
My synthroid is also been changed and I find that my interest in my hobbies has increased along with the increase dosage. Hyper/hypothyroidism is such an individually symptomatic disease that the best way for me to describe what it feels like, at least in my case, is to ask you to imagine being so exhausted after doing a minor task that you need to nap for two hours. Also that going almost anywhere causes so much anxiety that you just want to stay home. Of course people don't know that you feel that way because let's face it your too anxious to tell people.
Yes indeed change. Lots of change.
My friend Heidi Wulfraat of HW WoolWorks has closed her physical studio here and is opening a studio in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. I will miss her beautiful smile and visiting her and her wonderful shop. She is such a lovely and talented person and I wish her so much happiness and success in her new venture.
Our little group is meeting once again every two weeks or so from 5:30pm to 8pm at 197 Buckingham Place in the meeting room, courtesy of our friend June, on the following dates; October 18th, November 1st and 29th. See you there.

Gypsy Petticoat

Here is a mash up of Stephenie Dosen's Gypsy Petticoat pattern from Knitscene magazine Sept 2012 issue, page 83. I used Berocco Ultra Alpaca.  The pattern can also be found on Ravelry. I starred it on February 11th, 2017 and completed it on April 26th, 2017. I absolutely love it.
