The Wonderful Weekend

This weekend has thus far been simply marvelous for many reasons.
On Friday my very good friend Theresa came over to test out my sock pattern that I will be teaching on September 11th at Cricket Cove, Moncton. It was wonderful to get together again with my friend. Something we don't do often enough and it was great to be able to teach.Something I haven't done for a long time and never have as a knitter. Thanks to Theresa I am making a number of revisions to my pattern that will make it easier for people to use.
Yesterday (Saturday)Theresa and I met up once again and headed to London Wul.This is another lovely knitting shop on Melanson Road.Well we arrived a little early so we chatted for a bit and got silly and took our pictures on the porch with the cardboard sheep.
What a great time we had together.I of course spent far to much on yarn and not nearly enough as far as I am concerned.
I am diligently working on the stole pattern I am readying for free.
I must also let you know that Theresa gifted me with a book by Elizabeth Zimmerman "The Knitting Workshop".EZ was a wonderful knitter and if I was to give her a title it would be "The Ultimate".You can find her products at The Schoolhouse Press.
Well the Olympic closing ceremonies are coming on and I must watch.
Take care and good knitting

Sussex Yarn Shopping

Well I spent some time at the General Store in Sussex yesterday. The store is like a yard sale with the most yummy alpaca, silk, cotton yarn from the Devine West Ranch. I splurged and bought a cone, yes I said a cone! of 100% superwash merino wool and a ball of cobweb lace alpaca.
The superwash merino is a sport weight wool with over 3000 yds on the cone.It is deliciously soft and is called "Koau Sport". I am knitting a lovely stole pattern I found at the Yarn Lover's Room. I am hoping to have enough left over to knit some socks.
I finally made a good start on the stole I am creating. It is a very simple 4 row repeat patter I got out of the Harmony Guide to Lace and eyelets book. This is a very nice book of over 200 lace patterns.I do recommend it.
It is not very late her but as I have had a tiring day due to my overactive thyroid I am off to bed.
Take care all and I'll post again soon.

It's all Good

I must say my Noro not done in Noro yarn shrug turned out extremely well.Given the dampness of the weather lately I may be wearing it sooner than I imagined. The shrug I made in Patons Divine will have to be unravelled as my tesion was off.Oh well no matter.I haven't decided whether or not to try and do it again on smaller needles or just leave it for now.
I will be teaching a class at Cricket Cove in Moncton starting September 11th.The class is how to knit 2 socks on 2 circular needles.I am so looking forward to teaching this technique and encourage you do go to Cricket Cove and sign up.It should be a fun 4 classes.
I received my copy of Harmony Guide to Lace and Eyelets this week and I am going through it to choose a few stitches to swatch for the stole I am going to design and knit. I will upload the pattern for that when I have it completed.
My sister, a non-knitter, telephoned last night to tell me about a nice yarn store she went to in Sussex, New Brunswick and it does sound promising.I plan to go to The General Store this week when I am on my days off and I will let you know all about that trip.
I am putting the pictures of my completed shrug below.
I am going to do my housework and watch the Olympic opening ceremonies.
It's all good.
Have a great day.
