Crochet Afghan Complete

Completed my all wool 70 inch x 70 inch, 49 granny square crocheted afghan. I started it the 26th of December, 2013 and finished it tonight January 23rd, 2014. That is just 28 days! I used sixteen and a half balls of Noro Kuryeon in a variety of colours, 3 balls of Briggs and Little (Briggs) heritage and 3 of regal black, a ball each in yellow, orange and light blue as well as over half a ball of Paton's blue. The blocks are a classic granny square, the border is Lucy's Granny Border of attic 24.

I know my hubby and I are going to enjoy sleeping under this.

Spin a Sweater

I took myself, with gift certificate and pattern in hand to London Wul this morning to purchase enough roving to make Pam Allen's oversized, Kimono style, Crazy Quilt cardigan. I had saved Vogue Knitting's Fall'92, Special Anniversary Issue with the knowledge that one day I was going to knit that cardigan. I never imagined that I would knit it from yarn that I have spun. Thanks to owner Heidi Wulfraat for your help with colour choices.

Chromatic Hoodie

I am so taken with Annie Modesitt's Chromatic Hoodie pattern found in the Winter 2014 issue of Interweave Crochet magazine that I went to one of my LYS, Cricket Cove today and bought myself a little kit to make it. Mind you it is not the yarn specified in the pattern but it us all pretty much sport weight. The kit I made up consists of the following:Noro "Ayatori" colour#15 lot#A, 6 balls, by Briggs and Little "Sport" 3 skeins Fern Green, 1 skein Light Blue and, 1 skein red. Berrocco's "Ultra Alpaca Light" 3 skeins colour#4217,lot#1101(gold) and, 3 skeins Cascade Yarns Superwash Sport colour#823,lot#9323.

Crocheted Squares Bag

I crocheted this for my friend Shelley at work as a Christmas/feel better gift. The pattern is " Squares Bag" by Marinke Slump and can be located on her site or on Ravelry.

I used the Flower Sunburst Granny Square, yarn from my stash, and 2 balls of Loops and Thread Washable Wool in gray for the background. I used Briggs and Little Heritage black to knit the I-cord that I then felted. This pattern has a great way to crochet a back seam for ease of attaching a lining. I give it a 5 out of 5.
