Rainbow Lace Pullover

So you all may not know but I returned to my old job in February. I simply missed my days off.
Below is a sweater that I sort of told you about in my January 26th post when I uploaded the dyed center pull balls of Sirdar Eco Wool DK purchased at Cricket Cove in Moncton over the span of about 2 to 3 years. Well I dyed 11 of them and started knitting on February 3rd. I completed the pullover on the 28th of March. I must confess to having worked on many projects in between and really only picked it back up around the middle of March. The pattern is in the Simply Knitting magazine Issue 115. The pattern is called, you guessed it, Rainbow Lace and is by Amanda Jones. It called for Noro Shiro  and to be knit back and forth. As you know I used a yarn I handdyed and I of course knit it in the round until 4 pattern repeats were complete and then I split to knit the back and front back and forth. I also knit the sleeves in the round, 2 at a time on one circular needle. Interestingly while up at Reads picking up even more knitting and crochet magazines I was asked to accomplish the whole changing from knitting back and forth to a circular pattern. All I usually do is subtract 1 stitch on either side of the garment example; pattern calls for you to cast on 50 sts for the front and 54 sts for the back. Subtracting 1 st on the sides means you cast on 48 sts for the front and 52 sts for the back for a total of 100sts. Remember that you will now also be knitting every round  instead of knitting and purling. Unless there is a pattern as in the pullover.

I am struggling to control my urge to order a Lendrum spinning wheel. I have managed to hold back thus far but I know with just a little bit of encouragement I would probably buy one. Why do I want this wheel? After all I have 3 spinning wheels already. I think it is because it is made in Canada. I have wheels from New Zealand, Holland and the United States and not one from my own country. I get all obsessed about these things. I know the price is just going to keep going up and I ask myself do I really need this wheel? I am still considering it.
Well it is time for me to get back to knitting. I am just going to work on a scarf pattern from Victoria Lace today. A nice and relaxing thing to be doing on such a nasty weather day.

Hugs
Cinna
