A Wonderful Afternoon

Thank you Deina for having Therese and myself to your lovely home this afternoon for a few hours of knitting, chatting and snacks. What a great way to spend a few hours. Thank you also for the two lovely hats and the Blood Orange soda.
Here is a photo of Deina's wonderful yarn tree that I admire so much and that she will soon disassemble. Sigh!

This awesome pic message was sent from a Virgin Mobile phone.

Kaya Easy Cropped Shrug

While I'm at home laid up with the most wicked of ear infections I took the opportunity to knit one of my favourite shrug patterns, "Kaya Easy Cropped Shrug" . You can find it by googling it or on Ravelry. I used 4 skeins of Berocco Peruvia Quick wool color 9177 and dye lot 71575. I purchased it a few weeks ago at London-Wul. I modified it by knitting the body for 8 inches before rib and bind off and I also knit 10 rounds on each sleeve before rib and bind off. This is such a cozy cropped cardigan that is easy to knit and modify. That makes it a great project.

Update

Well 2016 was a year of ups and downs. As most years generally are.
We had to adjust to my lower income as I now work part time. Of course the benefit is I have more time at home.
Last year was marked by the lows of my emergency appendectomy last February, my daughter's sudden illness in March, my sister's emergency gallbladder surgery on December 23rd and more recently the loss of our beloved 12 year old Old English Sheepdog Barclay.
The year was also marked with some wonderful highs as well. All three of us recovered nicely and are doing well. The few summer days spent with my Mother and two sister's at the cottage. Being adopted by our kitty Whisper. The Maritime Spinning retreat on PEI with my daughter and all the wonderful people we see annually. I am also blessed with the fellowship of the knitting,  spinning and rug hooking groups I enjoy.
The three pairs of socks are basic toe ups I knit. From left to right; Cascade Heritage Paint, Knit Picks Tye Dye Speckles and Heidi Wulfraat's Holiday Cheer.
